Polynucleotides in Archway, North London

A regenerative approach to skin quality.

When skin starts to look thinner, tired or less resilient, adding volume isn’t always the answer. Polynucleotides offer a different approach: an injectable treatment used to support skin quality and rejuvenation, without traditional filler-style volume.

They can be especially interesting if your focus is the condition of your skin rather than the shape of your face. The goal is subtle: healthier-looking, refreshed skin, without changing what makes you look like you.

What are polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are injectable compounds made from highly purified DNA fragments. In aesthetic medicine they’re used as regenerative skin treatments, intended to support the processes involved in skin repair and rejuvenation.

Unlike traditional dermal fillers, their main purpose isn’t to add volume or reshape your features. Treatment focuses on improving the overall look and quality of your skin over time.

What can polynucleotides be used for?

Depending on your skin, the product chosen and your assessment, polynucleotide treatment may be considered for:

Skin quality

Support for a fresher, healthier-looking complexion.

Fine lines & texture

Improving the look of areas where skin has become less smooth.

Under-eye skin

Selected concerns in the delicate, thin skin around the eyes.

Elasticity

Supporting skin affected by age-related changes in firmness.

Face & neck

Different areas can be considered, depending on your needs and the product.

Interested in your under-eyes?

Tired-looking eyes don’t always need filler. The eye area is often one of the first places where changes in skin quality show. Fine lines, crepey texture and thinning skin beneath the eyes can all add to a tired look.

For carefully selected patients, polynucleotides may offer an option that focuses on skin quality rather than simply adding volume under the eye. The right treatment depends on what’s actually causing your concern, so assessment always comes first. Hollows caused by volume loss, for example, may need a different approach.

Polynucleotides, skin boosters or dermal fillers?

They’re all injectable aesthetic treatments, but they aren’t interchangeable.

TreatmentWhat it’s mainly for
PolynucleotidesSupporting skin quality and regenerative processes, rather than adding volume
Skin boostersImproving hydration and overall skin quality
Dermal fillersRestoring volume, enhancing contours or treating selected areas of volume loss

You don’t need to know which one you need before booking. That’s what your consultation is for.

Regeneration, not transformation

Good aesthetic treatment isn’t always about changing your features. Sometimes it’s about improving the quality of the skin that frames them. We’ll assess your skin, talk through the changes you’ve noticed and explain whether polynucleotides are appropriate. If another approach would suit you better, we’ll tell you. No pressure, and no one-size-fits-all plan.

What to expect

  1. ConsultationYour concerns, goals, medical history and whether polynucleotides may suit you.
  2. Skin assessmentA careful look at your skin and the areas you’d like to improve.
  3. Your planThe proposed course, expected results, potential risks and alternatives.
  4. Treatment & aftercareFine, careful injections, followed by clear aftercare advice.

Are there risks?

Yes. Polynucleotides are injectable treatments and carry potential side effects, including swelling, redness, bruising, tenderness and, less commonly, infection or a reaction to the product. Because most products are fish-derived, a fish allergy may mean treatment isn’t suitable. Risks, benefits and alternatives are discussed fully before you decide.

Polynucleotide FAQs

Are polynucleotides a dermal filler?

No. Both are injectable treatments, but polynucleotides aren’t used like volumising dermal fillers. The focus is skin quality, not shape or volume.

Do polynucleotides add volume?

They aren’t designed to create the structural volume or contouring that traditional fillers give. Their aim is to support the quality of the skin.

Can polynucleotides be used under the eyes?

Certain polynucleotide treatments may be considered for the under-eye area. Whether they suit you depends on your anatomy, the cause of your concern and a medical assessment.

What are polynucleotides made from?

They’re made from highly purified DNA fragments, usually derived from fish such as salmon or trout. Tell us about any fish allergies or sensitivities at your consultation.

How many treatments will I need?

Polynucleotides are usually given as a short course, then maintained. The exact protocol depends on the product, the area and your skin, and we’ll recommend a plan after your assessment.

How quickly will I see a difference?

Polynucleotides are a progressive skin treatment, not an instant volumiser. Changes tend to build over the course, and we’ll explain the expected timeframe for your plan.

Is there downtime?

Temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, bruising or small raised bumps at injection sites can occur, especially around the eyes. We’ll tell you what to expect for your treatment.

Invest in your skin

If you’d like to improve skin quality without dramatically changing your features, polynucleotides may be worth exploring. Start with a consultation and we’ll help you decide whether they’re right for you.

Less about changing how you look. More about investing in your skin.
