Anti-Wrinkle Injections in Archway, North London
Anti-wrinkle injections (botulinum toxin type A) are the world’s most popular non-surgical aesthetic treatment — and for good reason. When administered precisely and conservatively, the results are subtle, natural and transformative: you look refreshed, not frozen.
At Blue Light Dental & Aesthetic Clinic, all injectable treatments are performed by qualified dental clinicians with an in-depth understanding of facial anatomy. This is not a beauty salon procedure — it is a medical treatment carried out to clinical standards.
How anti-wrinkle treatment works
Small amounts of botulinum toxin are injected into specific facial muscles, temporarily relaxing them to smooth the overlying skin. The effect develops over 5–14 days and typically lasts 3–4 months, after which muscles gradually return to normal activity.

Frequently asked questions
Does it hurt? Discomfort is minimal — the needles are very fine and the injections quick. Most patients describe a very brief, mild stinging sensation.
How quickly will I see results? Effects start to show within 3–5 days and are fully apparent by 14 days. We recommend a review appointment at 2 weeks for any adjustments.
Is there any downtime? No significant downtime. You may experience minor redness or pin-prick marks at injection sites that resolve within a few hours. We advise avoiding intense exercise, alcohol and lying flat for 4 hours post-treatment.

What anti-wrinkle injections actually do
Anti-wrinkle injections (sometimes called “Botox”, the most well-known brand) work by softening the muscle activity that creates expression lines on the upper face. The most common areas are frown lines between the eyebrows, horizontal forehead lines, and crow’s feet at the outer corners of the eyes. They work best when used early — to slow the deepening of lines that have not yet become permanent — but they soften established lines too.
What to expect at the appointment
An anti-wrinkle appointment at Blue Light Dental takes about 30 to 45 minutes including consultation. We assess your facial movement at rest and on full expression, agree on which muscle groups to treat, then deliver the injections with a very fine needle. Most patients describe a brief pin-prick. There is no real downtime — most go straight back to work. Results begin to appear at three to four days and reach the full softened look at around two weeks.
How long the result lasts
A typical course of anti-wrinkle treatment lasts three to four months. With repeat treatment over time, the underlying muscle becomes less reactive and many patients can space appointments further apart. Regular touch-ups every three to four months produce the smoothest, most predictable results.
Aftercare
For the first four hours after treatment we ask you to stay upright, avoid pressing or massaging the treated area, and skip vigorous exercise, alcohol and lying flat. These restrictions help the product settle precisely where it was placed. Mild redness or pin-prick marks at injection sites usually resolve within a few hours.
More questions we get asked
Will my face look frozen? Not when treatment is conservative and well-placed. The aim is a softer, more rested look — not a loss of expression. We start with conservative dosing and review the result before adjusting.
Can I have anti-wrinkle treatment alongside dermal fillers or skin boosters? Yes — many patients combine these in a single session because the treatments work on different things (muscle activity vs volume vs skin quality).
Why a dentist for anti-wrinkle injections? Dentists train extensively in facial anatomy — the muscles, blood vessels and bones of the face are our daily working environment. Treatment at Blue Light Dental is led by Dr Sanyukta Kothari (GDC 283340) in a CQC-registered clinical setting on Holloway Road.
