Dental Implants

Dental Implants in Archway, North London

Dental implants are the most advanced and long-lasting solution for missing teeth. A titanium implant is placed directly into the jawbone, providing a stable, permanent root for a lifelike crown, bridge or full arch restoration that looks, feels and functions exactly like a natural tooth.

At Blue Light Dental & Aesthetic Clinic, all implant placements are performed by Dr Dipil Nathalal, who holds an MClinDent in Implant Dentistry and has placed hundreds of implants across a wide range of complexity levels.

Why choose dental implants?

  • Permanent: fixed into the jaw — no removal, no slipping, no adhesives
  • Natural-looking and feeling: impossible to distinguish from real teeth in most cases
  • Bone-preserving: the only tooth replacement that stimulates the jawbone and prevents bone loss
  • Adjacent teeth are unaffected — unlike a bridge, which requires preparation of neighbouring teeth
  • Long-lasting: with proper care, implants can last a lifetime

The implant process

Following a thorough assessment (including 3D imaging referral where clinically indicated), the implant is placed under local anaesthetic in a minor surgical procedure. A healing period of 8–12 weeks typically follows before the final crown is attached. The entire process is spread over a few months, but the actual chair time at each appointment is modest.

Frequently asked questions

Am I suitable for implants? Most adults with adequate bone density are suitable. Dr Dipil will carry out a detailed assessment and discuss your options, including bone grafting if required.

Does implant surgery hurt? The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic and is generally well-tolerated. Some mild soreness in the days following is normal and easily managed with over-the-counter pain relief.

What’s the success rate? Dental implants have a clinical success rate above 95% in healthy patients with good oral hygiene.
